Founder & Managing Director, Mayfair 101
James Mawhinney is the founder and Managing Director of his family's investment holding company, Mayfair 101.
James has been in leadership roles from a young age and has developed significant hands-on experience having bought, built and sold companies internationally, coordinated large scale customer acquisition programs, negotiated significantly complex cross-border transactions, and has always remained committed to creating win-win outcomes.
He is passionate about identifying opportunities in a broad range of markets, assembling teams, and executing in a strategic way to create value for stakeholders. He draws on significant hands-on experience in scaling businesses, building strong management teams, consulting to over 2,000 businesses on growth strategies throughout his early career, and diligently undertaking ventures that deliver significant value.
He is particularly passionate about using the many talents he acquired through his early education and business experience to work on opportunities that matter, particularly those that others may not see or be capable of undertaking. He thrives on distilling seemingly complex subject matter down to simple concepts and communicating this with audiences regularly to educate and inspire others.
He has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Investment Finance) from the University of Western Australia, and has substantial hands-on international corporate finance, management and advisory experience having held a previous role as Managing Director of an ASX-listed digital media company to which he exited his family business.
